Hugh Jackman – The Man. The Music. The Show.

Last week I celebrated turning 30, and my hubby treated me to a night out to something I have been wanting to go to for ages; Hugh Jackman The Show. And boy oh boy am I glad he surprised me with these tickets. For two-and-a-half hours I could not stop smiling – except for when Keala sang ‘This Is Me’ I teared up – but all I really wanted to do was to stand up and dance!

Hugh opened up with the perfect opening number; ‘The Greatest Show’. Everybody in the audience was transfixed from the first note and right through until interval – where it was a mad rush to the toilets and back in time before the twenty minutes were up – and again for the next hour-and-a-bit. Even hubby who has never watched ‘The Greatest Showman’ or ‘Les Miserables’ enjoyed the night as it didn’t just focus on those songs… Hugh included anecdotes and stories throughout his career. It was funny, then hilarious, then hit a sad note and as quickly again it was more funny stories being told by one of the greatest storytellers in the business.

If you are a Melbourne-ite like me, do yourself a favour and get tickets to the final show on the 27th because it is worth every cent. If I didn’t have Europe in just over two weeks, I would 100% be going to another show.
