Port Denarau is amazing – friendly people, great food at bargain prices. Luke and I were staying at the Sheraton and would catch the Bula Bus each day here for the 7 days we were staying (Bula Bus is $8 Fijian for one day unlimited back and forth or $24 Fijian for 4 days unlimited).
Our favourite spot was Lulu’s Cafe where their “Lulu’s Big Breakfast” is beyond amazing and great value for money and if anything, the second best burger I have EVER had was Lulu’s Chicken Burger. (Best being an organic Bison Burger from LA) Lulu’s Chicken Burger was so good, my fiancé and I ate it about 4 times each out of the 7 days we were in Fiji.
Another great spot was the Hard Rock Cafe – The Twisted Mac & Cheese and sensational – went back for more!
Also, check out the little Hot Bread Kitchen as it is beyond imaginably cheap – we got two sausage rolls, two fruit drinks and a big slab of lamington all for $11 Fijian! Which is about $6 AUD! WOW ! Lamington is delicious and so so big was only $1.75 Fijian.
For a nice and relaxing massage, check out SPA MAYA (hidden near where all the Cruises are located) it is tucked away but is possibly the cheapest place to get a massage and the best service. The rooms are beautiful, greeted professionally, cold water, cool mint cloth on arrival and tea before exiting. After first visit they remembered our names when we went back again, so nice little touch. Couples massage was $200 Fijian for an hour and worth every penny.
On the night we got engaged, a restaurant at the resort was under construction so we came into town and felt like pizza – there is a pizza place called Mama’s Pizza and we ordered an 18″ Pizza which was great! Couldn’t finish it but was so nice we stuffed ourselves silly.
There are many other cafes and shops to check out here which were all raved about by fellow holiday-ers but we found some of our faves and stuck with them!
