Fiji, Oceania

A couple of years ago we stayed in Fiji – more specifically, Deneraru Island – and it was amazing!

Fiji is by far the best holiday destination I have ventured to and would happily visit here again. We stayed on the manmade island at the five star Sheraton Resort and was so glad we did. We were in an Ocean Breeze Room on the second level and it was perfect for our week away – added bonus, only 4.5 hours from Melbourne! I just love it! The calmness, positive vibe, happy people, great food and relaxing atmosphere… What isn’t there to love?!

Whilst in Fiji, we stayed at the Sheraton on Denarau Island in an Ocean Breeze room and it was perfect!
There are so many places to go and see and plenty of activities to do, some included; Jet skiing, parasailing, cruises to a private island, snorkelling, massages, etc;

Food wise, there is a ridiculous amount of options available to you, whether it be at the Sheraton or take a Bula Bus down to the port and enjoy one of many places to eat;
Café Lulu’s: amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner, we ate here frequently (daily).
Hard Rock Café: Perfect for a drink with dinner; the Twisted Mac and Cheese is perfection (I have also re-created a mock-up of this in my recipes area!)
Mamas Pizza: 18” pizza here is great, but big!
Hot Bread Kitchen: Super cheap food, but is delicious!
Amalfi Italian Restaurant: Pretty cheap and pretty good.

To top off this perfect holiday, I ended up engaged on the first night, proposed to on the beach behind our resort at sunset! It was perfect and the photos capture the moment perfectly (we celebrated that night with a 18” pizza and cokes from Mamas Pizza).

The major factor in this pleasurable trip was the positivity and happiness that emanated off of the people in Fiji, every day without fail they were always so pleasant and greeted us warmly. They will do anything for you and aren’t the type to ask for anything in return, they truly are wonderful people.

Fiji is the perfect break to have a relaxing trip to escape the madness of back home, but there are still plenty of activities to do for the restless types. I find it is a great trip for everyone, whether they are families, honeymooners, couples, and really does suit all needs.
